Buddhist Hand Gestures

Hand gestures come from various countries, so there are various terms for them.  In searching for more information about hastas, I found the term mudras, and I'm sure there are more.  I'm learning just as we all are.  So that brings me to these boys in training to become Buddhist monks.  Here they are, charming as ever, showing this weeks mudras photographed by Dennis Cordell.

On the topic of Buddhist Hand Gestures, this might be a good time to educate about the persecution of Tibetans, as described in this documentary Cry of the Snow Lion

Lets hope that a beautiful culture of peace does not get bullied out of existence.

Hey. I pressed the enter button too quickly. (above)

I watched the whole thing. It's sad, and I need to check my emotions about the Chinese. It was not the people who did such horrible actions but the government.

I feel powerless. All I can do is perhaps learn the Tibetan language and try not to purchase things made in China...that's kind of hard. But if it is all I can do, I'll do it.
